The expo will be held over a display area of 1,20,000 sq ft, making it only second to the Shanghai Motor Show. The show, which is expected to host over 12 lakh visitors, is also expected to generate Rs 20 crore-plus business. It has been reported that the previous edition had done a business of Rs 10 crore plus.
SIAM officials have said that around 2,000 exhibitors would be present. Of these, a good 40 per cent are leading global players. The event has also been accredited by the Organisation Internatinale Des Constructeurs D’automobiles (OICA) of France. All these features cement the fact that the Indian automotive industry has a growing importance in the global arena. The confirmed participation of various automobile and automotive giants and delegations from 25 countries, including France, Brazil, Japan and Korea, explain this.
The Auto Expo will also provide a platform to automobile manufacturers and ancillary makers from the US, Japan, China, Germany, France and Italy.
